Hi everyone!! I am Surin and I am so excited to launch my website, where I get to share my passion for traveling. 

 

My Life So Far 

I was born in a small town, called Bad Soden in Hessen, Germany, and was raised in many places (Bangkok, Frankfurt & Seoul). I spent a lot of time traveling with my family growing up... and now I am in my twenties still exploring the world and traveling! So far, I've been to 31 countries and 260 cities! My very first solo travel took place in Singapore in the summer of 2016, where I stayed at a 10-bed female dormitory at a hostel for the first time in my life. I was able to connect with other travelers my age for the first time and commit to budget-friendly travel. I've stayed in more than 60 hostels all around the world, and have met so many people throughout my trips. I am also a certified yoga teacher and a yoga student -- I volunteered to teach yoga in hostels, schools (and at a kindergarten too), a senior center, and community centers. 

 

About Me

I graduated with a BS in Psychology and an MS in Public Health from the University of Utah. I found a job right after I finished my bachelor's degree and worked full-time while working on my master's degree in Salt Lake City. After finishing grad school, I moved to Chicago, Illinois, and worked there for almost a year. I quit my full-time job in Chicago to follow my passion for traveling in January 2024 and find my purpose in life. Now I am a full-time female solo backpacker on a budget (doing a bit of freelancing as well) and I look forward to exploring new places and going on a self-discovery journey.

If you've already checked out my Instagram, you would have noticed that I love spending time outdoors, hiking, and exploring the wilderness. I also like mountain biking, kayaking, and photography! I enjoy road trips, camping, watching sunsets at the end of the day, stargazing at night, and making wishes. I am also a beach girl and love snorkeling, swimming, and spending time by the beaches. You will find me outside in nature (or sometimes in the cities) filming unforgettable moments with my GoPro Hero 10 and who knows, these might turn into a documentary down the road!

MBTI (Myers–Briggs Type Indicator): ENFJ-T. I am a hardcore ENFJ :)  

Zodiac Sign: Gemini. I am a May baby 

Favorite Color: Anything yellow. Yellow is my soul color!

Pets: I have one doggie, named Sarang (we call her Sassi) and she currently lives with my parents in Korea. She is 15 but she's still our baby

Fun fact: I scuba dived in Cozumel, Mexico, which is one of the best places in the world to scuba dive

Travel style: I love adventures! I love going off the beaten path and finding hidden gems! I also enjoy learning new cultures and exploring local markets. I prefer to be in non-touristy places but I do visit touristy areas too just to figure out why they are so popular. 

Some places that are on my travel bucket list: the Maldives, Iceland, Dubai, Nepal, Jordan, Patagonia, the Galapagos Islands, Papua New Guinea, Bhutan... etc..
