This is a quick record of what I did while I was in Chicago :D I got a job offer in Chicago, so I decided to meet my "potential" new coworkers & the team. I did a Microsoft Teams Interview online before getting the offer as well as a phone screen, but all the interviewers had their cameras off (which is really weird) during face-to-face online meetinng. I didn't feel that great talking to a blank screen but it was what it was and once I got the offer, I thought it would be nice to meet these people in-person before accepting the offer. I booked my flight right away (it was super pricey because it was so last minute) & headed to Chicago. I've visited Chicago back in 2017 so I was revisiting in 5 years. I am sharing some photos here, but more photos/experiences can be found on my instagram (@sr_ch_).
The Riverwalk
Chicago didn't change much- a quick walk at the Riverwalk was nice, the view was great, and things were familiar. I also saw the Trump tower.
Chicago Cultural Center
Actually this was my first time vsiting Chicago Cultural Center. Located in the central downtown area, right across from the Bean, the Chicago Cultural Center was free, open to public and very artsy.
Chicago art event near West Loop
I wasn't sure if this is an ongoing event or not, but I was looking for a place to visit at the end of the day and I found this place in Google, where people sell their artworks. Food trucks were there, music was on, people drinking and chatting. I felt pretty safe; at the entrance were secutrity guards who did all the security checks. They checked everyone's bag and made sure that everyone is safe. The event wasn't big, but it was cool to see local artworks, and how people in Chicago enjoy themselves.
I liked the city vibe in Chicago, since it was a way different feel from Salt Lake City. Overall, my visit in Chicago was great, and I also loved events that I went to during the stay.
